POSTPARTUM SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL Announces Free OPEN FORUM Sessions every Wednesday for moms and first Mondays of the month for Dads Via 800 bridgeline.
Imagine the benefits of being able to talk with a PSI PPD expert about resources, symptoms, options and general information about perinatal mood disorders from the privacy of your own home. No need to arrange child care or transportation. No need to pre-register or give your name. Sessions are informational only and open to anyone with questions and concerns about themselves, a loved one, friend or family member. Limited to the first 15 callers.

Healthcare Alternative Systems H.A.S. is looking for volunteers to assist us with providing childcare during their Friday morning PPD support groups.
The groups are run out of the HAS facility at 1942 N California Ave, Chicago, 60647 on Fridays mornings from 10am - 12pm.  Anyone interested in volunteering can contact either Jennifer Novak or our Case Manager, Marisol Vega at (773) 292-4242.

The Stress and Depression Laboratory (Dr. Jackie Gollan, Director) is conducting a research project using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) to evaluate brain activation patterns for women of all ages with depression in comparison to women of all ages with no depression.  Individuals who qualify for and complete the study will receive a total of $200 for their participation.
We seek individuals who:
1)      Have given birth in the last 12 weeks
2)      Are experiencing depression or sad mood
3)      Are not taking medications for their depression
4)      Will pass a drug test
5)      Are between ages 22-39 years and right-handed
You will receive $200 after completing two visits: a clinical assessment and an fMRI scan.  All assessments take place at the Northwestern University Asher Depression Center, Department of Psychiatry, and the Northwestern University Chicago Campus Center for Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging.  Approved by Northwestern University IRB # 26954.

A brief Online Research Study needs first time mothers with a child between 4 months and 12 months old to complete an online questionnaire related to postpartum mental health.
